World Senior Citizens’ Day Assembly – Elders our Guiding Light – Std. I & Std. II

The Lower Primary students of Mitra Academy conducted an assembly on World Senior Citizen Day on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, to honour and appreciate the invaluable role of senior citizens in our families and society.The assembly began with the School Hymn, followed by a Thought for the Day and a brief presentation highlighting the importance of respecting and caring for our elders. The students also presented a special song and role play that depicted the loving bond between grandparents and grandchildren. The assembly concluded with the National Anthem. The meaningful programme helped students understand the importance of loving, respecting, and caring for senior citizens, while reminding them to cherish the wisdom, love, and guidance of their elders.
