World Senior Citizen Day: Serve the Elders -Std. III to V
The older generation of our population plays a valuable part of our society. Our grandparents are living memories of history, imparting well-earned wisdom and advice. They provide support and guidance to their grandchildren as they navigate through different aspects of life. Thus, we celebrate them every year, marking August 21 as Senior Citizens Day.
The World Senior Citizens’ Day assembly was celebrated in Mitra Academy on Monday, August 21, 2023 in the ARA Hall for the students of the Upper Primary section. The main aim of the assembly was to make the students recognize, respect and appreciate the elderly population for their values and contribution made to their families and society. The assembly commenced with the school prayer, an inspiring thought, News followed by a theme talk by the teacher on the importance of respecting and taking care of older people and a melodious song sung by the students. Stories were shown to state the important role of senior citizens in our lives. The assembly concluded with the pledge and the National anthem.
