‘World Literacy Day – Enrich Yourselves – Special Assembly’ – Std. I & II

In order to raise awareness about the importance of education, World Literacy Day – Enrich Yourselves Special Assembly was conducted on Friday, September 08, 2023. The assembly started with the ‘School Hymn’, followed by a ‘Thought for the day’. As a mark of love and respect towards different languages, the students shared a few ‘Amazing Facts’ in English, Hindi and Kannada. This was followed by a ‘Medley of Rhymes’ in all the 3 languages. The ‘Teacher’s Talk’ highlighted the fact that the main aim of observing this day is to focus on spreading awareness among people regarding the importance of literacy. Ways in which we can help ourselves as well as others progress basic literacy were discussed, including the ability to listen, speak, read, write and also the ability to use our imagination and creative thinking in making learning more interesting. The importance of making reading and writing a vital part of our daily routine was also emphasised. The students enthusiastically participated in the assembly as well as in the ‘Design A Book Cover Activity’ planned during the Enrichment Period, wherein, students designed a beautiful cover page of their favourite story book, thereby making the event a fun-filled learning experience.
