Toran Making Activity – UP

Makara Sankranti is a Hindu festival celebrated all over India in many different ways on the 14th day of January. Sankranti is the festival of harvest dedicated to worshipping the Sun. The day marks the end of the month with the winter solstice and the start of longer days. On this occasion the students of the Upper Primary section conducted a special assembly. It brought forth generosity, harmony, gratitude and love amongst the students. To celebrate the festival, the students made torans aesthetically to hang in their classrooms. The students actively participated and thoroughly enjoyed the activity.
