Onam Special Assembly – Std. I & II
Onam is a harvest festival that celebrates the return of the legendary King Mahabali (also known as Maveli) to the state of Kerala. The festival occurs during the first month of the Malayalam calendar, between August and September and is celebrated over ten days with feasting, boat races, songs and dances. To highlight the significance of Onam and promote the spirit of love, harmony and unity, the students of Std. I & II conducted a special assembly on Tuesday, September 10, 2024. The performance was a visual delight for the audience. A group of students sang a traditional folk song, followed by an energetic dance that beautifully captured the essence of the celebration. Ms. Rakshitha, delivered a speech on the significance of Onam, reinforcing the values of respecting diversity and the importance of sharing.
