My Superheroes – Poem Writing Competition – Std. III to Std. V

To commemorate World Senior Citizens Day, Mitra Academy organised a Poem Writing Competition titled “My Superheroes” for the students of the Upper Primary Section on Wednesday, August 19, 2026. The theme, “Elders – Our Guiding Light,” encouraged students to reflect on the invaluable role of senior citizens in their lives.
Students participated with great enthusiasm, expressing their love, admiration, and gratitude towards elders through thoughtful and imaginative verses. The poems beautifully captured the wisdom, guidance and unconditional support that senior citizens offer across generations. The entries were evaluated on presentation, imagination, content, language and creativity, with winners selected from each section.
The competition provided students with a meaningful platform to explore their creativity while nurturing values of empathy, gratitude, responsibility and respect for elders. It was a heartwarming celebration that honoured senior citizens as the guiding lights and cherished superheroes in our lives.
