International Yoga Day – UP
International Yoga Day is observed every year on June 21 to raise awareness about this ancient practice and to celebrate the physical and spiritual prowess that yoga has brought to the world. Yoga is a form of physical, mental and spiritual practise originated in India. On the occasion of the International Yoga Day, a special assembly was conducted by the Upper Primary students on Wednesday, June 21, 2023. The students were motivated and encouraged to know the theme of Yoga Day ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ which means ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’. The objective was to create an awareness about staying healthy and strong. The students enjoyed the rhythmic dance and the theme talk which had a worthy message that by changing our lifestyles, creating consciousness and practicing yoga everyday, we can improve our well-being. Warm up exercises were taken and all the students practised and performed sitting asanas, importance of these were explained simultaneously. Badges were distributed to the heads by the Primary School Head Boy and Head Girl. Yoga day was celebrated with great enthusiasm.
