Guru Purnima Assembly – Std. I & Std. II

The word “Guru” comes from Sanskrit: “Gu” means darkness, and “Ru” means remover. A Guru therefore,is one who removes the darkness of ignorance and guides us towards knowledge and wisdom.The students of the Lower Primary section celebrated Guru Purnima assembly on Thursday, July 30, 2026, with great reverence and enthusiasm. The special assembly was organised to honour and express gratitude towards teachers, who serve as guiding lights in every child’s life.
The assembly commenced with the Thought for the Day, followed by interesting facts that highlighted the significance of Guru Purnima. Students captivated the audience with a soulful song, a graceful dance performance and an inspiring video that beautifully portrayed the virtues and invaluable role of a Guru in shaping lives and nurturing young minds. The teacher then delivered the theme talk, emphasising the importance of respecting, appreciating, and valuing teachers for their unwavering guidance and support. Students were reminded that a teacher’s influence extends far beyond the classroom, inspiring them to become responsible and compassionate individuals.
The assembly concluded on a patriotic note with the singing of the National Anthem, leaving everyone with a deep sense of gratitude and respect for their Gurus and reaffirming the timeless values of learning, humility and gratitude.
