Celebrating Linguistic Diversity – Assembly – Std. I to Std. II

The students of the Lower Primary section conducted a ‘Celebrating Linguistic Diversity’ assembly on Thursday,February 19, 2026 to mark International Mother Language Day with great enthusiasm and pride.The assembly began with a warm welcome, followed by a prayer and inspiring thoughts for the day highlighting the importance of preserving and respecting one’s mother tongue. Students shared interesting facts about the significance of the day, which was first proclaimed by UNESCO in 1999 to promote linguistic and cultural diversity across the world. The highlight of the assembly was a vibrant fancy dress ramp walk. Students came dressed in beautiful traditional attire representing various Indian states. Carrying state maps, they confidently introduced themselves in their mother tongue, showcasing the rich linguistic diversity of our country. The activity not only enhanced their speaking skills but also instilled pride in their cultural roots. The assembly concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks and the National Anthem. The assembly served as a meaningful reminder that languages connect us to our heritage and strengthen our identity. It was indeed a joyful and enriching experience for both students and teachers.
