Onam Special Assembly – Std. I & II

The Lower Primary section of Mitra Academy conducted a special assembly on the occasion of Onam with great enthusiasm and festive spirit on Wednesday, September 03,2025.The assembly began with the School Hymn followed by the Thought for the Day. Students presented a short speech highlighting the significance of Onam, the harvest festival of Kerala, and the story of King Mahabali. A cultural programme added to the vibrancy of the event, featuring a lively peppy Onam song describing the various traditional Kerala dishes and a graceful Thiruvathira dance performed by the students. These performances showcased the rich culture and traditions of Kerala. A student, dressed up as King Mahabali, made an appearance in the assembly. Amidst cheers of joy and excitement, the children not only enjoyed the celebration but also learned the significance of this special occasion. A deep sense of pride, cultural unity, and belonging—that we are all part of one big family—was beautifully instilled in them.
