National Sports Day Assembly – Std. III to Std. V
The Upper Primary students celebrated National Sports Day on Thursday, August 29, 2025, in honour of the legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand, whose birth anniversary is on August 29th. Fondly remembered as the “Hockey Wizard” for his unparalleled contribution to the sport, Major Dhyan Chand’s legacy continues to inspire generations. The celebration highlighted the significance of sports in fostering fitness, discipline, and character among students. The special assembly began with an inspiring Thought for the Day, followed by the news, weather report, interesting facts, and an energising Zumba session. A theme talk on National Sports Day further enriched students with knowledge about the life and achievements of Major Dhyan Chand. Adding further value, Mr. Girish, the PE instructor, addressed the gathering and emphasized that sports are an integral part of students’ holistic growth and development. The assembly concluded with the Pledge and the National Anthem, instilling a sense of pride and unity. The celebration served as a reminder of the importance of staying fit and active. It reinforced the idea that sports not only builds physical strength but also shapes one’s personality and instills valuable life lessons.
