Republic Day Special Assembly – Std. I & II
Republic Day marks the adoption of the Constitution of India, which came into effect on January 26, 1950. The constitution was drafted by the Drafting Committee led by Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. In 2025, India celebrates its 76th Republic Day.
The special assembly began with a ‘Thought for the Day’ and key facts about Republic Day. This was followed by a cultural program that beautifully reflected India’s rich heritage and diversity. Students presented various performances, including a patriotic song, a traditional dance and a role play showcasing different freedom fighters and their struggle for Independence. The vibrant performances captivated the audience serving as a reminder of the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters. Students sang the beautiful patriotic song ‘ ‘Elegalu Nooraru’ and performed a graceful dance to ‘ ‘Lehra do’. A few students enacted the roles of Bhagat Singh, Bharatmata, Mahatma Gandhi, Subhash Chandra Bose and Dr. B. R. Ambedkar followed by an inspiring teacher talk. The assembly concluded with the National Anthem instilling a sense of patriotism in everyone present.
