Field Trip to Government Aquarium – Std. II
Mitra Academy School, Arekere organised a field trip for the students of Std II, on Tuesday, June 26, 2024 and Wednesday June 27, 2024, to the Government Aquarium – Kasturba Road, Bengaluru within the premises of Cubbon Park. The students were accompanied by their respective class teachers and support staff. Popularly known as Bangalore Aquarium, it is the second-largest aquarium in India and has a fascinating range of cultivable and ornamental fish on display. Located in the heart of the city, the aquarium is surrounded by several historical structures. The students were fascinated by the different kinds of freshwater and tropical fish of various shapes and sizes. They were thrilled to catch a glimpse of the underwater marine world with a rare species of flora and fauna housed in small and large glass tanks. They had an opportunity to touch and explore various traits of fish. The educational tour emphasised on holistic development as students learnt resilience, adaptability and interpersonal skills in real world scenarios. They gained a deeper appreciation for nature and its inhabitants, enhancing their sense of responsibility towards environmental care. Overall, it was a very exciting day for the students along with experiential learning.
