Kisan Diwas – UP

Farmers are regarded as the backbone of India’s economy. So, every year, National Farmers Day, popularly called Kisan Diwas, is widely celebrated in India on 23rd December. The day marks the birth anniversary of independent India’s fifth Prime Minister, Chaudhary Charan Singh, who held office between 1979 and 1980. The day is also dedicated towards creating awareness about the importance of farmers in our country and to recognise their contribution in the growth and development of India as a nation. To create an awareness about the selfless services that the farmers provide to mankind , the students of the Upper Primary section conducted a special assembly on December 20, 2023. The assembly had a few facts related to farmers and a video depicting the contributions of Shri Chaudhary Charan Singh. A student played the role of a farmer to showcase the importance of farmers in our society.
