Dr. Kalam’s Day – Salute to People’s President – LP
World Students’ Day is celebrated on October 15 every year to honour former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam’s contributions to the field of education. The occasion coincides with the late teacher’s birth anniversary. India’s 11th president – dubbed the Missile Man of India – was an eminent scientist and administrator who worked for more than four decades with the Defence Research and Development Organisation. To celebrate this spirit of learning and acknowledging the student within all of us, the students of the Lower Primary section celebrated World Students’ Day on Thursday, October 26, 2023. A special assembly was conducted where the students celebrated the life and work of our great scientist and President Dr Kalam.The assembly began with the “School Hymn” followed by a quote by Dr.Kalam-One best book is equal to hundred good friends and the significance of books was stated. It was followed by a few facts about his early life, his contribution to the country as a renowned scientist, people’s President and being a great human who lived his life with simplicity and humility. Student’s also watched a video that depicted glimpses of his successful life. This was followed by a teacher’s talk. The assembly concluded with the National Anthem.
