‘Class Picnic’ – Std. I

The students of Std.I were taken to the Grameen Camp on Friday, January 19, 2024. This place near Nelamangala – was a perfect place for one to have fun and frolic and at the same time enjoy the traditional games that had all the natural and ethnic beauties of the lifestyle that once was a reality long ago.
After breakfast, the students had a blast, doing different things like making Channapatna toys and pottery at Madake mane. They also went on a bumpy tractor ride around Grammen camp, raced with tyres and played games like Laghouri and ball games. They even learned about plants in the medicinal garden. In Halli Mane the students tried churning buttermilk and using an old-style mortar and pestle to grind cereals, pulses and spices. Children enjoyed the series of activities lined up for them in this camp and relished the sumptuous ‘n’ mouth watering lunch. After all the activities the students enjoyed playing on swings in the playground. They realised only later that the fun had ended and they had to return back to school. The trip to Grameen camp was a great way of learning through nature. Students had a super fun picnic at Grameen Farms!
